User accounts and access

CONNECT HELPCENTER · USER ACCOUNTS AND ACCESS

The right person.
The right access to your store.

A user account determines who can access Connect Marketplace and what tasks they can perform. Here you will learn how to organize login, account details, and permissions for everyday store management.

Whether you are logging in for the first time, adding a new team member, or resolving an access issue, start with the type of account and the store where you need to work.

Check your access

ACCOUNT, STORE, AND PERMISSIONS

What access do you need?

The storefront and administration serve different purposes. An account you use to purchase products may not have access to store management, and logging in to the administration does not mean that all settings are available to you.

01

Customer account

Used for purchasing and using the customer features of the storefront. Registering as a customer alone does not grant permission to edit products, process orders, or manage a vendor.

02

Vendor administration access

Used for working on the catalog, orders, and other available areas of the business. Access is assigned for the appropriate vendor, and the visible options depend on the assigned permissions.

03

Team member permissions

The person preparing products and the person processing orders do not need to have the same permissions. For each person, define the tasks and access they need to perform them.

Use the administration address provided by the Connect team or the responsible person for your work. The availability of individual functions depends on your account, store settings, and activated services.

FROM ACCOUNT ASSIGNMENT TO EVERYDAY WORK

How to arrange access to the store

  1. Agree on who needs access

Prepare the person's name, official email address, store name, and list of tasks they will perform. Coordinate the assignment of accounts and permissions with the responsible person or Connect Support, according to the agreed way of working together.

Use a separate account for each person. A shared password makes access management more difficult when tasks or team members change.

  2. Log in at the appropriate address

Open the official HTTPS address you received and enter the assigned credentials. If you received instructions for setting a password or confirming access, follow the procedure in that message.

If you cannot log in, check the page address and the details you are entering. For a forgotten password, use the available recovery option or request help.

  3. Check the account and selected store

After logging in, check the name of the vendor or store where you work. If you have access to different stores or languages, confirm the selected context before editing.

The administration interface language and content language may be separate settings. Before changing a product name, description, or page, check which language version you are editing.

  4. Check your details and required permissions

Review your user and contact details in the available account settings. The user email address, public store contact, and address for business notifications may serve different purposes; do not consider changing one detail to be a change to all the others.

Check whether you can open the areas required for your work. If something is missing, specify the exact task and request a permissions review. Do not use someone else's account as a substitute for missing access.

  5. Maintain access when the team changes

When a new team member joins, arrange a separate account and permissions. When responsibilities change, check whether access needs to be adjusted, and when someone leaves, request that their access be revoked promptly.

Coordinate access changes with the person authorized to make them. Also align any related business tools if the person used them; access to those tools may be managed separately from the Connect Marketplace account.

How should work be divided among the team?

First define responsibilities, then agree on permissions based on them. The following examples describe business tasks; the names and capabilities of user roles in your administration may differ.

Catalog and content

Preparing products, photos, descriptions, and translations. Specifically agree on who may change prices, availability, and publicly published content.

Orders and customers

Reviewing new orders, processing them, and communicating with customers. Agree on who changes statuses and which data they need to see to perform their work.

Business settings

Store, shipping, and payment method settings, when available. Designate a responsible person who approves changes affecting purchasing and business operations.

Users and access

Agreement on new accounts, permission changes, and revoking access. These tasks are performed by an authorized person or coordinated with the Connect team.

Quick account and security check

  • Each team member uses their own account and current contact address.
  • You know which store and language version you are working in.
  • The assigned permissions match the person's actual tasks.
  • Do not share your password by email, through a support request, or in shared documents.
  • Use a unique password for your account, and log out after working on a shared computer.
  • If additional login verification is available for your account, follow the corresponding instructions for using it.
  • The access of people who no longer work on the store has been reviewed and revoked if necessary.

What should you check when access does not work?

You cannot log in

Check the official address, username or email, and keyboard layout. Record the exact message and time of the attempt. If you have forgotten your password, start the available recovery process; if the message does not arrive, also check your spam folder.

You are logged in, but something is missing

Check the selected store, active filters, and content language. If you still do not have the required menu or record, tell Support what you are trying to do and provide a specific example.

For verification, prepare the store name, page address, user email address, and description of the issue. Send a screenshot without passwords, keys, or unnecessary personal data. If you suspect unauthorized access, immediately notify the responsible person and Connect Support.

Frequently asked questions about user accounts

I registered as a customer. Why can't I edit the store?

Registration in the storefront alone does not grant administrative access to a vendor. Request the appropriate account and permissions for the store where you need to work.

Why can my colleague see more options than I can?

Accounts may have different permissions and access to different stores or services. Specify the tasks you need to perform so an authorized person can review your access.

Can I change the email I use to log in?

Check the available settings for your account. If the change is not available or you no longer have access to the old address, contact Support for verification and to agree on the procedure. Separately check public contacts and recipients of business notifications.

Do I need to send my password to Support?

No. Send a description of the issue, the page address, the time, and the details needed to identify the account through the official support channel. Do not include the password in a request or screenshot.
